My Son Baron

IMG_9630

My 6 month old son Baron and I had an impromptu photo shoot the other morning. Playing in the morning is our favorite time of day but it tends to make it harder to get to work and be productive in the morning hours.

my beautiful fiancee
Here is another shot of my beautiful Fiancèe, this time in my studio. We took this one over the weekend. She really enjoyed my white background.

On Halloween I did a photoshoot with Chris Clark, a local musician. Chris is a great guy who was very fun and easy to work with. This shot is one of the few serious ones we took that day. He said he was big fan of not looking “overly serious like most musicians do” in their promo photos. Chris sang in Unlimited, Seattle Pacific University’s premeir choir. Also, before Gabe graduated from SPU, he played bass for Unlimited.

flash repair

the guts of a speedlite
A little while ago, my speedlite 430ex was broken at a wedding. It wasn’t a big deal because we had a back up and could continue on with no delay, but the repair shop wanted $75 to fix it. I told them I’d check out what other options were out there and get back to them. I called up Canon and it turns out the part actually costs only 3 dollars! And with my background in tinkering with electronics, I was able to repair it in under a half an hour.

Autumn

As many of you know, my fiancée is finishing up her undergrad at Trinity Western University. We see each other just about every weekend. This weekend we were both very busy, so we meet up just for a day on Sunday. We decided that she’ll drive south and I would drive north until we meet in the middle somewhere. Well, there was an especially long line at the border so we ended up meeting in Bellingham!

It’s a beautiful time of the year when the weather gets cold and the leaves all change color at the same time. The drive up to Bellingham is beautiful.

Below is a photo of Jacqi - I’m a lucky guy to be marring such a great girl!
