Still up working on images. there are definitely no shortage of images here at gabriel boone. tomorrow is a day of meetings with neat people in seattle. I hope to post more on the events that transpire tomorrow. One thing I’m excited for is picking up my new Boda Bag. We’ve eyed this things from pre-release and for some reason, just never purchased one. No longer. I finally ordered one this past weekend and hope to pick mine up tomorrow. More to come later.
Visible Grace
Visible Grace is a local non-profit working to build a school and home for orphaned children in Nairobi, Kenya. My friend Ashby, Visible Grace’s director, has been passionate about children in Africa for longer than I’ve known her, and it has been obvious even since the day we met. I’m excited to be a part of their Third Annual Dinner Auction this year at the Governor Hotel. We will donating a Portland Fall photo session that will be given away during their live auction this Friday. Last year I believe they raised over $35,000 during this same auction!
Fashion Show benefit for W.H.O.
Saturday evening I had the privilege of attending and shooting an event for my friend Mr. Hu (Koti Hu, I hope to post on this event soon) and I’m happy to say that tonight I will be involved in another benefit event, this time for W.H.O. (Women Helping Others or local link:W.H.O.) hosted at Garys’ in Bellingham. I was involved last year and will again be embarrassing my good name by walking the runway in the name of fashion and helping others. There may be a few tickets available if you call to reserve them tonight in Bellingham at 7:00pm. All ticket proceeds benefit W.H.O. and 10% of the evening sales will be donated to W.H.O as well!! It’s a great excuse to drink some wine, scope out some new digs, as well as shop and buy new clothes.
Tyler & Erica | Carnation Farm
As Gabe & I wrap up the 2007 Wedding Photography year shooting around 30 weddings, we had the opportunity to work with Tyler & Erica as one of our last few couples for the year. Tyler and Erica are both great actors in the Seattle area. They studied Theater at Western Washington University in Bellingham and one of their professors married them. In fact, they’re moving down to LA shortly after their honeymoon to pursue their careers. The wedding was at the Carnation Farm which near Redmond & Seattle (Carnation farm is the Regional Training Center for Nestle!).
I can not speak highly enough of the group of vendors working that day to help take Carnation Farm’s natural beauty and turn it into a truly magnificent and memorable experience. Heidi and her team from An Elegant Affair were delightful to work with and the decorations were superb. Michael Bride just has a way with people and they love him. Besides his talent with the make up, I seriously thought he was part of the family or a best friend the way everyone was so comfortable around him! Bella Musica kept the party going all night! By far one of the best DJ’s we have worked with lately.
