Rain can’t stop us. We shot these engagement photos Downtown Portland on one of my favorite streets for shooting photos, just outside the Ace Hotel. Even with full on rain, there are a handful of sick spots to grab some frames. Dan + Rachel brought it for their engagement photos and we’re just getting warmed up. Their wedding at the Benson Hotel is just around the corner.




I would be totally alright if all engagement sessions wrapped up at Por Que No.

Godwin asked his girlfriend Cathy to marry him at the Rhododendron Garden in Portland… and I was there to photograph the whole thing go down (under the guise of an avid birder).


While they currently live in Boston, these guys were in Portland for just the day to revisit their dating stomping grounds. Godwin was a champ, secretly coordinating with me beforehand to make sure we got photos at all their favorite spots.

A few rad things about our session at Discovery Park: the looming weather and droopy clouds, an awesome couple that wasn’t afraid to laugh and have fun in front of the camera (see image below for example), their awesome dog, almost getting leveled by a St. Bernard the size of a small elephant, bikers in spandex, talking about good food. (And now it’s midnight and I’m craving noodles!)
