When we met up with Collin and Jenette to talk about their wedding at the Seattle Aquarium, Jenette mentioned that they’d also like to incorporate their cats in our engagement photos somehow! Yeah, I was a little unsure how that’d go down, but pretty stoked to see what we could make happen. And the cats nailed it. So did Collin & Jenette! We had a great time shooting on a Sunday afternoon on Capital Hill.

We’re stoked for their wedding at the Seattle Aquarium. We’re also looking forward to working with Heidi from An Elegant Affair once again - Heidi is one of our favorite coordinators. It’s gonna be rad.

Family Matters
This past week I turned another year older. I really wanted some portraits of our family to capture this unbelievably fun yet crazy time in our lives. With two outlandishly cute boys and a smoking hot wife, life is good.
Boone was in Seattle for the weekend and Ashley arranged for a little birthday gift to me of some time in front of the camera with Boone. We hit up a park in Capital Hill and Boone rocked some sweet images that really capture our family. There’s a lot of love, laughing, energy and a bit of boogers as well. Thank you Ashley for the perfect gift and thank you Boone for your time and your eye! I’m thinking a fat canvas wrap will do the trick… especially when we get a new place in Ballard (but that’s another story for another time).
Troy & Jen
How many brides get to design out the whole layout of their wedding venue and have her Uncle move the earth to her desires with his John Deere? When Jen & Troy and I first met to talk about their wedding, she ran some ideas by me regarding where to plant the backdrop for the photos! I loved the idea of hundreds of thousands of sunflowers everywhere.

Olio United, Happy Birthday

I had the honor of photographing Olio United’s 1st Birthday this past Friday. More than just a boutique, Olio is a team of passionate people with a purpose.
“Quite honestly, we don’t believe the world needed another retail
store…it needed one with a better purpose. At Olio United, we share
stories.”
Check out their story here.
In celebration, Olio hosted a TOMS Shoes Silent Auction & Entermodal Pop-Up Factory with 100% of the proceeds going to Transitions Cambodia. My friend Leah from TOMS had me come photograph the event.

Here are Cathy & Korinne of Olio (and Katie in the middle).

Here’s Leah Albertson - check out this photo from a shoot we did back in May down in Marina Del Ray.

Here’s Leah and I (she’s a TOMS’r… and my friend!) - crazy that I can take photos with out using my hands! (thanks to Olio Cathy for that one)

…. and of course, check out the slideshow with more images.
