Christopher + Rochelle // Married

Portland Bed and Breakfast Wedding

My friends Chris & Rochelle were recently married at the Terwilliger Vista House Bed & Breakfast. Their wedding was unlike any other I have attended or photographed.  Every guest was a close friend or family member who has walked through life together with Chris & Rochelle, and also contributed to the day in a specific way.  Their friend’s David & Marie came down from Seattle to prepare dinner, Gino made the wine, Mike gave a beautiful homily, Mellisa used flowers from her garden to make the bouquet, I photographed it all and Jacqi hosted our table.  There were just over 30 of us all together.

It was a delicious, beautiful, intimate, and fun celebration.

In the Kitchen Bellingham - Cooking Classes to Start!

CIAO_beginnings_001

In November Boone and I shot a very fun and intimate wedding out on Lummi Island (which we’ve yet to post about!). It was enjoyable but still a long day. It seemed late when we drove off the ferry and Ashley called to see if we wanted to stop by the Kitchen to take some photos. Did I mention we were super hungry after shooting in the kitchen at The Willows Inn on Lummi? Well it worked out nicely in the end because we stopped by and ate some amazing food and had fun snapping some shots. I thought I’d post some of the images along with a slideshow and let our readers know that the cooking classes start this week. They are teaching a little bit of everything from preparing for the super bowl to braising and perfecting meat. I’m pretty excited to take the knife skills class tomorrow where I don’t chop off a finger and learn the proper technique to cutting! Yes! Check out the new In the Kitchen Blog for their class offerings.

a floating avocado

the perfect avocado

I came across this image while I was looking up some archived photos tonight. Its a product shot from over the summer of an Avocado start. I really liked how it is just floating there on the white background what would normally be covered by dirt is completely clean and exposed.
